Objective
All Uberflip Analytics dashboards and reports have filters which determine the data that is displayed. Learn how to configure these filters using the various filtering options that are available.
Configure and run a filter
When you open a dashboard, all available filters will initially be set to default values. You can configure these filters by specifying your own values.
To specify your own filters:
- First, click anywhere in the filters panel near the top of the window. This will expand the filters panel:
- Each line in the filters panel represents a different data type that you can filter by, and consists of the filter name, the condition dropdown, and the value field(s) (from left to right).
- To begin, choose the line that represents the data type you want to filter by, then click on the condition dropdown to select a condition:
- Note: When you select certain conditions for some filter types, additional condition dropdowns or value fields may appear e.g.:

- To add a value to the field, simply click on it in the autosuggest menu:
- Configure any other filters as needed.
- When you're ready to apply your filters, click on the Run button:
- The dashboard or report will refresh to display data with your filters applied.
Set up a filter with multiple values
If needed, you can specify multiple values on a filter. When you do this, the additional values are treated as separate conditions with an OR operator, i.e. the filter will match on any of the specified values, not all.
To add multiple values to a filter:
- When you click on an autosuggested value to add it to the value field, the autosuggest menu will remain open. To set multiple values, simply continue adding values to the field:
- Once added, you can remove any value from the value field. Simply click on the x button next to its entry to remove a value.
Set up a filter with multiple conditions
You can configure any filter to have multiple conditions. When you do this, the additional conditions are automatically treated as either AND or OR conditions depending on the condition you select from the condition dropdown.
To add multiple conditions to a filter:
- Next to the filter to which you want to add further conditions, click on the + button at the right side:
- This creates an additional filter line. On this filter line, set a separate condition and value(s):
- You can add any number of filter lines by continuing to click the + button. To remove any added filter line, click on the x button to its right.
Additional notes
Keep in mind that any filters you set on a dashboard or report are not persistent: when you navigate away, your filter settings will be lost.
However, you can set Persistent Filters which are saved to your browser, and will be applied automatically whenever you return to a dashboard or report. For more information, see this article.
Tip
Because filters are not persistent, you can easily reset all filters on a dashboard or report to their default values by simply navigating to a different page in UFA, then coming back again. Keep in mind that any Persistent Filters you have set will still be applied, however.
