What it is

UTM / URL Anaytics provide Information pulled from URL parameters and referrals that indicate what the source of traffic was.

Standard UTM Parameters are utilized as shown here:

These parameters are vital in understanding what the source of traffic is coming from and where they are landing.

Google Analytics Equivalent

Google provides extensive tools to understand referral traffic 

 

 

Full URL w/ Params

Data Type: Dimension

Description: The entire URL as it's shown in the address bar.  This includes additional parameters a query strings, which are both standard UTM and custom.  This will show embed configurations as well.  

 

Full URL Parameters

Data Type: Dimension

URL Parameters: The end of a page view URL that includes UTM and other parameters.  

 

URL

Data type: Dimension

Description: The full URL of a page view. 

 

UTM Campaign

Data type: Dimension

Description: The UTM campaign parameter pulled from a page view.

 

UTM Content

Data type: Dimension

Description: The UTM content parameter pulled from a URL used to link to the destination. This includes identifiers such as paid keywords or more specific identifiers for campaigns.

 

UTM Medium

Data type: Dimension

Description: The UTM medium parameter pulled from the URL used to link to the destination.

The medium refers to the type of platform referrals came from.  If the medium is in parentheses such as (none), (organic), (referral) then that means they were inferred by Uberflip. Those without such as email, referral, or social were explicitly provided.

 

UTM Source

Data type: Dimension

Description: The UTM medium parameter pulled from the URL used to link to the destination.

The source is the actual platform referring traffic.  This includes Google.com, yourwebsite.com, and if it's (direct) then that means someone typed in the actual URL manually.

 

Distinct URLs

Data Type: Count

Description: A drill-able count of Distinct page view URLs that can be used to identify all the URLs where an item might be displayed. 

 

UTM Campaigns

Data Type: Count

Description: A sum of the number of distinct campaigns pulled from the campaign UTM parameter.  Campaigns are either manually set or set by your Marketing automation software / ad server.

 

UTM Source & Mediums

Data Type: Count

Description: A sum of the number of distinct UTM Source & Medium pairs.
