Learn how you can leverage content in your conversations with leads and prospects by creating personalized content experiences with Sales Streams.
Before you begin
- To work with Sales Streams, you must be a member of the Sales Reps, Account Administrators, or Content Managers user groups.
About Sales Streams
Your marketing team creates a ton of content which is designed to generate leads, and to advance prospects through your funnel. Instead of just throwing all of that content onto the internet and hoping someone consumes it, they use Uberflip to create content experiences. This basically means presenting relevant content in a way that is attractive, structured, and engaging.
As a salesperson, you can use Sales Streams to create your own content experiences in Uberflip. This allows you to share content with your prospects in a compelling way, helping to drive conversations with them. A Sales Stream is essentially a self-contained "mini content experience" — a personalized collection of relevant content created just for a specific prospect:
Once created, your new Sales Stream will only be accessible from a specific (and customizable) URL that you can share with your prospect.
Create a new Sales Stream
Creating a Sales Stream is easy, and only takes a few minutes. There are three ways you can create a Sales Stream:
- From scratch: Create a brand new Sales Stream from the ground up using the Uberflip web app.
- By copying an existing Stream: Copy an existing Sales or Marketing Stream to form the basis of your new Sales Stream, then customize and personalize it.
- Using the Uberflip Extensions: Create a Sales Stream as you're drafting an email to a prospect with the Uberflip Extensions for Chrome and Outlook.
Follow these steps to create a brand new Sales Stream, where you choose each piece of content to be included yourself.
- Log in to Uberflip at https://app.uberflip.com
- Your Uberflip admin should have provided you with your username and password
- After you log in, you should be on the Content section of Uberflip, where you can see all the content that you have access to.
- Here, make sure you're on the Streams tab:
- Just below the tab, click on the New Stream button:
- This will open the Add a Stream menu. Here, click on the Sales Stream button (this should be the only button shown):
- On the next screen, type in a name for your Sales Stream. This will act like the title text on your Sales Stream. This is a good place to put a greeting to your prospect, but it can be anything you want.
- Use the field below that to type in a description for the Sales Stream. This text will appear at the top of your Sales Stream, below the name you entered in the previous step. You can use this field to personalize your Stream and include a brief message to your prospect.
- Last, use the dropdown menu to choose the purpose that you're creating this Sales Stream for.
- When you're ready to proceed, click on the Create button.
- Your Sales Stream is now created, and you'll be taken to its Stream menu where you can add content Items to it. To begin, click on the Add Items button:
- This will open the Add Items to Sales Stream window, where you can choose which Items you want to include. Items from all Streams in your Hub(s) will be shown, and you can narrow this down by using the dropdown menus and search box along the top:
- To add any Item to your Sales Stream, simply click on it. A checkmark will appear in the top right corner of selected Items to indicate they will be added to the Stream. To remove any previously selected Item, just click on it again to remove the checkmark.
- You can see the number of Items currently selected in the lower right. Add these Items to your Sales Stream by clicking on the Add button:
- You'll be returned to the Stream view, where the content Items you added will now be shown. Content will be displayed in your Stream in the order shown here. To reorder Items, simply drag-and-drop their tiles into the desired order.
- To preview your Stream, click on the Open button in the top right:
- Your Sales Stream will open in a new tab, and you can see what it will look like to your prospect:
- Now that everything is set up, you're ready to share your Sales Stream!
Follow these steps to create a new Sales Stream by copying any Sales Stream you previously created, or a Marketing Stream created by your marketing department.
When you do this, your new Sales Stream will be pre-populated with the content from the Stream you copied: from there, you can simply add or remove content to customize the Stream for your prospect. This is especially useful if you find yourself sharing the same pieces of (usually high-value) content with most of your prospects, for example.
Tip
To really save time, create a Stream that contains just the content Items you share the most. You can then create all your new Sales Streams by simply copying this "template Stream" every time.
- Log in to Uberflip at https://app.uberflip.com
- Your Uberflip admin should have provided you with your username and password
- After you log in, you should be on the Content section of Uberflip, where you can see all the content that you have access to.
- Here, make sure you're on the Streams tab:
- In the list of Streams, find the Sales Stream (marked with a bullseye icon
) or Marketing Stream (marked with a checkbox icon
) and click on it to to open it.
- While viewing the Stream, click on the three-dot "meatball" menu in the top right. In the menu that appears, click on Copy to Another Sales Stream (on a Sales Stream) or Copy to a Sales Stream (on a Marketing Stream):
- This will open the Copy to a Sales Stream menu. Here, type in a name (greeting) and description (message to prospect) for your Sales Stream, just like you would for a Sales Stream created from scratch.
- If you have multiple Hubs in your Uberflip account, there will also be a Pick a Hub dropdown menu. Use this to choose the Hub in which you want to create the copied Sales Stream. By default, the same Hub you're copying from will be pre-selected.
- When you're ready to proceed, click on the Copy button.
- Your Sales Stream will be created, with all of the Items from the original Stream already included. From here, just add or more Items and customize the Stream as needed, then you're ready to share your new Sales Stream.
Note
While copying a Stream will bring over all the content Items from the original Stream, none of the other Stream or appearance options will be copied, so you would need to recreate these on the resulting Sales Stream.
You can also create Sales Streams directly within the Uberflip Extensions, which are available for Chrome and Outlook. With the Uberflip Extensions, you don't need to leave what you're doing to log in to the Uberflip web app, but can instead create your Sales Streams within your current workflow.
You can find instructions on how to install the Uberflip Extensions in this article:

Share a Sales Stream
When your Sales Stream is set up and ready, all that's left to do is share it with your intended prospect. There are two ways to share it, with the URL and with the built-in sharing options:
Follow these steps to simply share the direct URL for the Sales Stream, for example in an email. You can also customize this URL if you want (see this article).
- Log in to Uberflip and navigate to your list of Streams (Content > Streams tab) and click on the Sales Stream you want to share to view it.
- While viewing the Stream, click on the Open button near the top right to open it in your browser:
- While viewing the Sales Stream in your browser, simply copy the URL from the address bar:
- You can now paste the URL anywhere you want to share it (like an email), and anyone with the URL can view the Sales Stream.
Follow these steps to share your Sales Stream directly to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, by email, or using HootSuite with the built-in sharing tool.
- Log in to Uberflip and navigate to your list of Streams (Content > Streams tab) and click on the Sales Stream you want to share to view it.
- While viewing the Stream, click on the Share button in the top right:
- In the Share this Stream menu that appears, simply click on the option you want to use to share the Sales Stream:
- Depending on your choice, the corresponding app will open, where you can then share the Sales Stream.
