Item tags help you categorize and organize your Items by keywords. Tag groups allow you to organize tags, and the content they're applied to, even further. This article shows you how to add and manage Item tags and tag groups in your Hub, which you can use to enhance Hub Search, Smart Filters, and more.
Before you begin
- To work with tags, you need to be an Account Admin, Content Manager, or Author

About Item tags and tag groups
In Uberflip, you can add tags to all Items in your Hub, similar to how tags work on most blogging platforms. A tag is simply a keyword used to categorize content, and Items that have a tag are associated with that keyword.
You can use tags to return associated Items when a visitor searches for the keyword in Hub Search (if enabled), or to select Items using Smart Filters.
Tag Groups are collections of tags with similar intents. They’re fully customizable and can be based on any topic or parameter you want.
The organizational structure of your tags, tag groups, and how they relate to each other, is referred to as your tag structure.
A few things you should know about tags and tag groups:
- Tags can be added to Items only—they can't be added to Streams.
- By default, tags are not visible on the frontend (i.e. to visitors to your Hub). If you want to show tags (or Item labels based on tags) in your Hub/Streams, custom options are available. Speak with your account manager.
-
Tags and tag groups are account-wide—if you have multiple Hubs, tags and tag groups you create can be used across all of them. Any tags created in any Hub will be shown in the list of existing tags in the Tags Manager.
For a more in-depth look at tags, tag groups, and tag structures, check out Tags explained.
