Uberflip's extensions make it easy to share your content experiences even when you're not working directly in the Uberflip app. Learn how to install the Uberflip extensions for Chrome or Outlook.

Before you Begin

  • There are no restrictions on installing the Uberflip extensions — anyone with an Uberflip account can do this.
  • Depending on which extension(s) you want to use, you'll need to have Google Chrome and/or Outlook 365 desktop, standalone Outlook 2016, or a free Outlook.com account.

Installing the Uberflip Extensions

The Uberflip extensions are designed to enable easy access to your Hub content even when you're not working directly in the Uberflip app, so that you can share it at any time.

The extensions are available for both Google Chrome (including integration with the Gmail web app) as well Microsoft Outlook (both desktop and Cloud). In this article, we'll look at how to install the Uberflip extensions for both Chrome and Outlook. To learn how to use the extensions, see this article.

Install the Uberflip Extension for Outlook (Cloud or Desktop)

The Outlook extension will work on any of the following versions of Outlook:

  • Outlook 2016 desktop (standalone, i.e. no 365 subscription)
  • Outlook 365 desktop
  • Outlook.com (i.e. "Outlook Online" in the cloud)

Regardless of the version you use, the installation process is the same: Microsoft ties Office Add-in installations to your Microsoft account and allows you to manage them in one place, so you can simply install the extension from the web no matter which of the supported Outlook variants you use.

Outlook 2013 and earlier

Older versions of Outlook (prior to Outlook 2016) do not allow you to install Add-ins from a URL, which is the method described in this article.

However, if you are using an older version of Outlook through a Microsoft Exchange server, your Exchange Admin may be able to install Add-ins using this method for you. For help, contact your Exchange Admin (you will need to provide them with the URL from Step 7 in the instructions below).

  1. Log in to your Microsoft account at https://outlook.live.com/
    • If you use a desktop version of Outlook, this should be the same email account you're signed in to in Outlook
  2. After logging in, click on +New Message.

Conflicts with other Add-Ins

The Uberflip extension for Outlook may experience problems due to conflicts with other extensions, such as the Salesforce for Outlook Add-In. If you experience problems with the Uberflip extension and you also use other Outlook Add-Ins, you may need to disable another Add-In to allow the Uberflip extension to function properly.
