My Credit Card Payment Was Declined

Follow

Uh-oh — your credit card payment didn't go through. Don't worry, it happens. While it can sometimes be difficult to pinpoint the exact reason why, here are a few things you can check on to try and fix the issue.

Check if your card is expired or cancelled

Maybe the card we have on file has expired, or was cancelled for some reason (the cardholder left your company, it was compromised, etc.). Review the card on your account and check if it's still valid.

See this article for instructions on how to check on your credit card details (and update them, if necessary).

Check that you entered your card information correctly

When you add a card to your account, you need to enter your name, card number, expiration date and CVV code. If you make an error typing any of these details in, your payment will be declined. Try re-entering your card details to resolve the issue.

See this article for instructions on how to update your credit card details.

Make sure the type of card that you're using is accepted

Keep in mind that we can only accept credit cards issued by Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Debit cards, credit cards issued by other companies, or prepaid cards can't be used to make a payment on your Uberflip account.

Check if your bank blocked the transaction

Sometimes, your bank will block a card transaction. This can happen for any number of reasons, but some common ones include:

  • Multiple orders on the same day
  • Charges that exceed an authorized amount
  • International transactions

If you've checked that your card details are correct, please try contacting your bank to see if they blocked the transaction.
