All of your Items in Uberflip have a content area. It may be the main event of an Item (like in a blog post) or some content below a video that adds a bit of context. This area can include text, images, and other elements used to add context to the Item.
Your Items may already have content you want to edit, or you may want to add something new. Either way, you can edit content for all Items with the Item editor. This article will show you how.
Warning
For imported content, changing the content will break the connection Uberflip has with the original source content. This means that if you change the content in Uberflip, then the content also changes at its original source, those source location changes won't sync to Uberflip moving forward.

Use the Item editor to craft blog posts from scratch
Check out Create a new blog post for a focused guide on how that's done.
Before you begin
- To edit Items, you’ll need Account Admin or Content Manager permissions
- Making content changes to imported content in Uberflip won't affect the content at its source location (where it was imported from). But it will likely break the source connection, preventing any updates made at the source from being imported into Uberflip's version of the content.
Accessing the Item editor
Here’s how to open the Item editor:
- Click Content in the sidebar menu
- Click the Items tab
- Find the Item you want to edit and double-click it
That’s it! You’re now in the Item editor.
Tip
You can also open the Item editor from the Stream editor page (Items tab) by hovering over an Item and clicking Edit Item. (Content > select a Stream > hover over Item > Edit Item)
Item editor basics
Here are the basic features of the Item editor that you can use to edit and enhance your content Item.
Rich text editor
Uberflip’s Item editor includes a rich text editor, similar to the ones you’d find in any text editor (like Google Docs and Word).
Depending on the size of your screen, more or less rich text will be shown in the toolbar. You can click the more menu (three dot icon •••) to see all of the rich text tools.
Insert stuff (other than text)
The Item editor allows you to easily insert useful web elements into your Item page, including:
- Media images (with captions)
- Links
- Videos (and embeddable presentations, like Google Slides)
- Code samples
- Tables
- Special characters
- Horizontal lines
- Anchors
Click the corresponding icon in the toolbar to add these. If you don’t know the icons, you can find a labeled list by clicking Insert.
Edit the source code
Want deeper technical customization of your Item? Looking to embed a code snippet to bring some cool tech into your Item? You can!
To open the code editor, click View > Source Code.
Publish your changes
When you're done updating your Item, it'll be saved as a draft automatically. Click Publish Changes to publish your changes.
