Uberflip Pages: Upload, crop, and insert images using Media

Follow

When working in Uberflip Pages, the Media feature lets you upload, edit, and insert images directly into your microsites. This article outlines how to use Media in Uberflip Pages.

Info

At this time, Media is only available in Uberflip’s Pages feature. This will be expanded to other areas of the Uberflip platform soon.

Good to know

  • Media only supports image files (including GIFs) at this time
  • The maximum file size for Media uploads is 40MB (more than you should ever need!)
  • Media supports most image file types, including JPEG, GIF, WEBP, PNG, and many more
  • Media automatically optimizes your images before serving them in your pages and microsites. This means that some compression may occur, but it’s unlikely you or your visitors will notice any difference.

Upload images in the Media modal

If you want to add an image to your page that you haven’t used in Pages before, you’ll need to upload it in the Media modal first. Here's how:

Note

After you’ve uploaded an image to Media, it will remain in your Media library and can be used again in other pages.

  1. In the page builder, add an image component to your page
  2. In the properties panel, click the plus icon (+) in the Image section
  3. The Media modal will open. Click Upload.
  4. The upload window will open. Drag & drop images (or folders of images) into the modal.
Or select a different upload method at the top of the modal and follow the prompts.

That’s it! Your image is now part of your Media library. From here you can crop the image, or add it directly to your page.

Crop an image in the Media modal

Cropping is easy with Media. You can quickly crop an image, then save it as a new asset or add it to your page. Here’s how:

  1. Add an image component to your page
  2. In the properties panel, click the plus icon (+) in the Image section
  3. In the Media modal that opens, find and double click your image
Note: Selecting more than one image will prevent you from inserting images into your page.
  4. The image will open in the modal. From here you have 2 options:
    • Use a preset crop:
Find a preset crop from the list and click Insert to add the cropped image to your page.
    • Use a custom crop:
      1. Click Edit > Edit Image
      2. In the Aspect dropdown, choose a preset aspect ratio. Choose Custom if you want to adjust the width and height freely.

Tip: You can also flip the image or rotate it from here as well.
      3. Choose to save the asset (overwrites the original file), save as a new asset, or insert it into your page without saving this version for later.

That’s it! Your cropped image is ready. If you saved the cropped image to your Media library, you can add it to your page now.

Add an image from Media to a page

With images uploaded to your Media library, you can now easily add them to your pages. Here’s how:

  1. In the page builder, add an image component to your page
  2. In the properties panel, click the plus icon (+) in the Image section
  3. From your Media library, select a single image to add

    Tip

Use the Advanced Search options in the Media modal to find images fast.

That’s it! You can now adjust and move your image on the page the same way you’d adjust any page element.
